To teach any of our qualifications within the Food Safety/Food Hygiene Category. 


You must hold one of the below

Subject knowledge:


Level 3 Supervising Food Safety (This will allow you to teach Level 2 Food Safety and below)

Level 4 Managing Food Safety (This will allow you to teach Level 3 Food Safety and below)

Degree of Dip HE in Environmental Health

Degree of Dip HE in the fields of home economics or food science

HNC/D in the fields of home economics or food science


You must also hold one of the below

Teaching Qualifications:


Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Sector (PTTLS)

Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Sector (CTTLS)

Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Sector (DTTLS)

Level 3 Award in Education in Training (QCF)

Certificate in Education - Issued from a University


Additional notes:


Many Level 3 awards in Food Safety are either done online or unregulated. As such these will not be recognised.


Please ensure that your certificate has the Ofqual logo on, this means it's a regulated course and meets the standards.
